Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer within our engineering consultancy, you will play a central role in designing, analysing, and delivering practical engineering solutions for a diverse portfolio of client projects. The purpose of this role is to translate client requirements into robust, safe, and cost-effective mechanical designs that meet applicable standards and regulatory requirements, while contributing to the technical excellence that defines our reputation. You will work as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team of engineers, technologists, and project managers, supporting projects across sectors such as building services, industrial systems, and infrastructure. Your work will directly influence project outcomes, client satisfaction, and the long-term performance of the systems you help create. • Develop mechanical designs, calculations, and specifications that comply with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements. • Prepare and review technical drawings, models, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency across deliverables. • Conduct engineering analysis, feasibility studies, and system sizing to support informed design decisions. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems with civil, electrical, and structural elements. • Support project delivery by meeting agreed milestones, budgets, and quality benchmarks. • Participate in site visits, inspections, and commissioning activities to verify installations against design intent. • Contribute to proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports for clients and stakeholders. • Maintain clear records and communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Bachelor's degree (BEng or BSc Eng) or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering. • Minimum of 3 years' relevant engineering experience in a design or consultancy environment. • Registration with ECSA as a Candidate Engineer or Professional Engineer (Pr Eng), or eligibility to register. • Sound working knowledge of relevant mechanical engineering codes, standards, and regulations. • Proficiency in engineering design and analysis software relevant to the discipline. • Strong technical calculation, problem-solving, and design competency. • Effective written and verbal communication skills for reports and client engagement. • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.

• Professional registration as a Pr Eng with ECSA. • Experience in building services (HVAC, wet services) or industrial mechanical systems. • Familiarity with BIM tools and 3D modelling software such as Revit or Inventor. • Exposure to sustainable design principles and energy-efficient system design. • Experience working on multidisciplinary projects within a consulting context. • Knowledge of project management principles and contract administration.
